As designers, we love recommending portrait art to clients who are looking to add a little funkiness to their space. A lot of people, however, aren’t super stoked about the idea of having a celebrity or some random person’s face on their walls. If you’re feeling a bit skeptical about the whole thing, just stick with us. Portrait art is having a huge moment right now and below are a few reasons why you should trust your designer when he or she recommends putting a face up on your walls!

Portraits Of Perfection

A portrait, along with its environment, does such a great job of instantly setting the mood for a space.

Take this Havenly-favorite black and white photograph for example. It makes the space simultaneously classy and fun. The photograph reads sophisticated and a little mysterious, but when you pair it with boho and gold accents, the playful side emerges!

MyDomaine

Check out the portrait in this bedroom. He’s a little bit serious, although the designer has added a few pieces around him that don’t read boring. This space feels mature and even just a little bit scholarly, but not overwhelmingly so.

This last piece screams fun and fashionable and adds a lot to the quirkiness of the space. Imagine if there were just a graphic abstract print here. This space would lose the je ne sais quoi that the portrait brings!
