Farmhouse style is having a moment, but it’s always been a warm and comforting style that fits in just-right with fall. As the weather begins to cool, we wanted to pull together some decor inspiration that brings the season indoors and pairs perfectly with all of your farmhouse design dreams.

Farmhouse style leans heavy on neutrals: creams, natural wood tones, maybe a bit of black or olive green. Luckily, that color palette is super easy to transition into fall! Even if your space is light and airy (a la Joanna Gaines), you can play up the darker, moody colors of the season.

Patterns like buffalo check are very of-the-moment, but add an autumnal touch to any space. A throw pillow or blanket in the bold pattern looks great with a solid sofa. It also looks beautiful with olive green or burnt orange, or even that saffron yellow we’ve been seeing everywhere.

After a summer spent trying to stay cool, fall is the time to introduce warm and rich textures into your space. We love the idea of layering cozy knit blankets in creamy colors into your farmhouse decor. Velvet and leather also add a warmer touch to all of your white linen and wood. Even without being specifically seasonal, adding these textures to your space will switch up the airy mood of farmhouse decor in favor of a cozier look for the season.

Here’s where the fall decor really comes into full force. We are currently loving harvest-inspired arrangements. Think sheaves of wheat in rough-hewn ceramics, jewel toned blooms (zinnias are a great option), and loads of greenery. Magnolia leaves have a shiny deep-green hue that feels especially fall, while eucalyptus creates a sun faded look.
