Living in New York City can be challenging at times, especially if you are a young and talented blogger with a busy schedule. Christine Petric, the pint-sized voice behind the popular style blog, The View from 5’2″, came to Havenly with a vision in mind and a $500 budget in hand. She was looking for a skilled decorator to revamp her gorgeous Soho apartment for her and a roommate, Clay, but had no idea where to start. Christine described her style as a combination of edgy, glam, and classic–never tying to one specific style, rather, married to all three.

Christine loved the idea of incorporating more earth tones in the 700 square foot space to promote a calm ambiance for her and her roommate to unwind after a long day in the city. She was in search of a few new décor pieces in order to bring their dream living room to life, including a sectional sofa with colorful throw pillows, a coffee table, and new artwork. Havenly’s interior decorator, Amy, designed a space that was customized to Christine and Clay’s liking, with a balanced mix of green, black, and grey tones. Here is a look inside of her fabulous design:

She wanted a cozy space that she could enjoy and was really open to different patterns and textures. Amy tried to stick with neutrals and small pops of green. Amy chose the storage ottomans over chairs because they are a great option for small spaces and can double as extra seating when Christine has guests over and can easily be tucked under the TV the rest of the time. Amy suggested a neutral but fun rug and the pillows added a little pop without being too bright.
