One of the most frequently asked questions we receive at Havenly deals with the pesky problem of hanging curtains. It can be a pain to do them by yourself (and invariably requires unwieldy tools, like a ladder, level, and hammer), and they often end up looking rather wonky, for lack of a better term. More often than not, curtains end up being one of the last pieces of a room that come together.
But it’s well worth the effort – curtains really tie a room together! Plus, it’s not really that hard. So stop procrastinating and use these three rules to get your curtain confidence up quick & easy.
1. Hang Curtains All The Way To The Ground

A 1-2 inch pool on the ground is perfectly okay.
2. Hang Curtain Rods At Least A Few Inches Above Your Window Frame
Hanging the rods closer to the ceiling will make the space look taller.
3. Hang The Curtain Rods Outside Of The Window Frame

When curtains are open, they gather mostly outside of the window but still cover the frame. This will make your window look wider since you won’t block the view when the curtains are open.
