Havenly-tip-of-the-weekHavenly’s first installment of our new series, Designer Tip of the Week, comes from our trusted designer, Julianne Collins! Julianne has experience working in luxury residential design, before making her move to Chicago and joining the Havenly team. She now spends her time exploring Chicago’s many neighborhoods, being cold, buying parkas, and trying to sew all of her bikinis into a sweater. Her design style can be described as eclectic and collected, and she can often be found scavenging thrift stores or hitting up street markets for new décor. Here is Julianne’s designer tip of the week:

“Let furniture pieces you love dictate your style, not the other way around. Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to make everything look cohesive that we forget to choose items that really jump out and say, ‘this is me!’ Allowing your space to become an extension of your personality rather than a prescribed look will contribute to an overall sense of contentment and warmth within your home. In addition, don’t be afraid to add in touches of whimsy and humor; they are what ultimately brings a space to life!”
