I always gave my dad a brand new tie every Father’s Day. Each year, he would smile at my carefully selected ties printed in polka dots or monkeys eating bananas. Best of all, he would wear them to work the following day and brave the ridicule that followed from his colleagues. Now that’s what I call a great dad.

This year, we encourage you to that level of thought and care into what you give your dad. While you might typically associate home goods with Mother’s Day, there are several reasons they make great gifts this Father’s Day. For one, it’s a present that your dad can come home to daily that reminds him of you. An antique chessboard or a set of leather coasters, for instance, make attractive additions to any home office or man cave.

Second, home goods can be both entertaining and functional. A great example of this is the Bar10der: the perfect all in one tool for any home bar. Third, it is the perfect opportunity to give a present with some summer flare, especially if your dad is a self-proclaimed grill-master. A new, fun grill tray is the perfect accompaniment to any barbeque dinner on a warm summer’s night.

Finally, I come to my last case in point: home décor gifts are not nearly as cliché as goldfish ties.

Happy decorating and a very happy Father’s Day from all of us at Havenly,
