Merging Styles
Don’t think of it as masculine versus feminine, think of it as Game of Thrones collectibles and psychedelic artwork versus bohemian styling and chic accents. Sound familiar? Sometimes all you need is a third party to get an outside look to overcome the challenge of merging two distinct styles. Because hanging that sci-fi art in the office where no one will see it isn’t always an option! Plus, if you love something (or someone) you’ll find a way to make it work.
$ Hitting The Budget $
It can be disappointing to fall in love with a particular look or style only to be smacked with the cold, wet, disappointing reality that you’re dreaming about something way outside of your budget. But that’s just a sad reality of interior design, right? Nope! You can live in your dream space without breaking your budget. But solving for your budget can be a challenge.
Luckily, we love challenges (and horse puzzles!). Solving budget design problems is simply a matter of clever sourcing, design communication and figuring out where to splurge and where to save. And this process gets a whole lot easier when you’re working with a Havenly designer, who can instantly search through hundreds of vendors to quickly find the items you’re lusting after at a price you can afford.

Form & Function, Sitting In A Tree
Form loves function, and function loves form. It’s a symbiotic sort of arrangement. So it’s important to remember that interior design addresses more than just aesthetic choices. It solves real problems. From pets who shed to rooms with multiple purpose, it’s impossible to separate what looks good from what works. That said, whatever design problem you’re solving – it always needs to look good! Being able to snap a photo and send it off to a designer is a great way to get the right style conversation started.
Art & Wall Decor
Art – Where to start? With Kylee, of course. Check out her tips on gallery wall styling right here.
Gallery art wall tips, on the house:
- Try to establish a theme or connective thread – It can as simple as having similar colors that run through the entire collection, or choosing a cohesive collection of frames.
- Make sure your pieces have a similar voice – For instance, you might not want to place a contemporary black and white landscape next to an expressionistic color field.
