Did you see the feature in Architectural Digest on Steve Wynn’s Manhattan Duplex? Fresh off the heels of a Vegas trip, I of course took notice, with the hope that the spectacle and grandeur of his Vegas properties would translate interestingly to his own personal dwelling. The Bellagio, Wynn, and Mirage are well-known for their opulent interiors. Touches of that same opulence can be observed in Wynn’s personal NYC property as well.

Designer and Executive Vice President at Wynn Design & Development, Roger Thomas, has worked with this casino mogul and other hospitality tycoons on a plethora of both residential and commercial projects.
I love the plaid window treatments and the graphically & texturally interesting floor coverings. If you hadn’t noticed, Steve Wynn’s art collection is pretty spectacular as well. Visit Architectural Digest for the full story and more photographs.
Interesting Fact: The centerpiece of Wynn’s impressive art collection is the Picasso portrait entitled La Reve. For a while, this was also the working name of what I believe is now his eponymous resort. Wynn was slated to sell the portrait for $139 million to Steve Cohen in 2006 (at which time would have been the highest paid price for a work of art to date). Wynn expressed a little too much enthusiasm while presenting the painting to a gathering of friends and inadvertently punched his elbow through the canvas! After a round of costly repairs, the piece was eventually sold (to Cohen, once again) last year.
