Do you break the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner?
My sister and I were so ridiculous and competitive as little girls– we would break the wishbone and fight over the bigger piece. Which makes absolutely no sense because– of course– the recipient of prosperity and good fortune is determined at the time of the break! That didn’t matter to us, obviously. In any case, wishbones (most notably gilded wishbones) seem to be the home accessory du jour. Hey, if they truly bring a person good luck, I wouldn’t object to one in every room in our home! I’ve had my sights set on a pair of wishbone chairs for a while now (if only I had the space for them!). Love the fact that you can choose from 14 different lacquer colors at Design Within Reach– or leave it au natural in an oak or walnut finish.
I also stumbled upon this amazingly MILFY Wishbone Napkin Ring DIY via Erin of The House of Earnest. I promptly started following her via pretty much every social media channel because these are seriously adorable!! While I wont have time to complete this DIY now, perhaps a few of you can manage a quick run to your local crafts shop for the oven bake clay and swing these little pretties prior to Thursday’s festivities.
