Nothing makes you contemplate your design choices more than being trapped inside (still) at the end of winter. The bathroom is a space that feels particularly vulnerable to such soul-searching— particularly because of the permanent nature of its finishes. It’s unlikely you’re able to constantly revamp your bathroom tile and fixtures, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give the space a fresh look that will kick you out of your winter design rut.

The quickest way to give your bathroom a new look is to pick up some fresh new linens! For the purposes of this blog post, we’ll include shower curtains along with linens. Pick a new color scheme, choose clean and fresh whites, and maybe take things in a different style direction. Try a colorful bohemian look or go for a neutral farmhouse look. Brands like Target make this process easy and affordable. Why not switch things up!

Bathrooms are one of the most overlooked spaces to showcase framed art. Often our clients are reluctant, because of the constant moisture often present in a bathroom. But, a framed art piece will hold up fine. Obviously, this probably isn’t the place for the family Monet, but small art prints are a great accent that makes the bathroom experience more beautiful and more fun! You could take things in a whimsical direction, or just frame several photos that you love.

Plants love to be watered! So, the bathroom can be a great place to inject a little life into your home. Tie eucalyptus to your shower head for a fragrant start to your morning, add a small succulent garden to the top of your toilet tank, or place a vine in an empty corner! Just make sure you have enough light for the species you choose, and let the shower be your plant’s daily misting.

Bathrooms don’t have to be all utility. Don’t go overboard, of course, but add a little personality to your space with some decor items! If you have a small shelf, a small collection of rocks or momentos could be a beautiful touch. A vase or jar or two would look great and could even hold necessities like cotton balls.

A fresh look for your bathroom will have you ready for spring in no time! If you still need help choosing the perfect accessories for your space, chat with a Havenly designer.
