We’re all in the mood for a refresh, even though it’s a seasonal cliche. But, interior designers seem to be better at the spring switch-up than most of us regular mortals. Here’s how the professionals go about spring cleaning!
1. Don’t hold onto things that don’t have a place.

The difference between designers and us normal humans is that designers are really good at finding a home for everything. Books, clothes, kitchen stuff…their MO is to give it a perfect place that looks nice, too. Follow their lead and consider ditching those items that seem to float around your house endlessly.

2. Closed storage is your friend.

An interior designer loves a basket. It’s just so much easier to keep your space looking neat and well-planned when you have places to tuck away anything unsightly. That way, anything that is left “out” feels super intentional.

3. Use small touches to update your space.

You don’t have to go buy a new set of furniture to make your space feel refreshed for spring. Instead, pick up a few new touches that are enough to make you love your room all over again. Candles, a new piece of art, or even a few pillows in a different color scheme can make a big difference.

4. Add green!

No, not money, plants! They’re the best way to add a hint of life to any space. Pick up a few fresh plants then add a cute arrangement of planters to any corner, ledge, or tabletop! It’s a surefire way to breathe life into your space for spring.
