A self-proclaimed “Color Whisperer,” Amanda Nisbet knows a thing or two about creating a well-balanced room. Featured on the pages of the New York Times, House Beautiful, Traditional Home and Veranda, her designs showcase a fresh sense of femininity that’s anything but fragile.

While never formally trained as an interior designer, Nisbet has become “one of New York’s most distinctive, sought-after creators of refreshing, abundant elegance.”
Originally educated as an art historian, she first fell in love with color during her travels throughout Italy. Studying gemology at the famous Christie’s auction house helped to train her now “color-confident” eye– it’s almost difficult not to see the influence of jewels and gems in her practice!

Her online portfolio is divided into 3 different categories– showhouse, country and city living — each offering a refined take on the relatable, livable family home. You’ll have an ‘aha’ moment as you peruse her work– this is the woman responsible for so much of the spectacular interior imagery floating around on Pinterest and the like! It’s possible that you’ve been admiring Amanda Nisbet — along with her custom lighting and textile lines– for quite a long time now…

How about that lavender wooden-slatted sunroom ceiling? And just when you thought she couldn’t get more fabulous….you stumble upon her gorgeous book, Dazzling Design.
On my wish list– 224 pages of “polished but never predictable interiors” according to Elle Decor. The glorious living space on the front cover– rich in its jewel-tone hues and abstract prints — boasts one of Nisbet’s showpiece light fixtures from her collaboration with Niermann Weeks, the palm chandelier.
