People are embracing a “laid back maritime attitude and bring a sea la vie take to everything—even if the ocean is nowhere in sight,” reads the report. “Get ready for cable knit sweaters, sardine tattoos and stripes. on. everything.” The social platform cites significant spikes in key search terms like “cable knit sweater,” “raincoat outfit,” and “fisherman sandals” as evidence for the rising interest in the coastal-inspired look.
While Pinterest explores the fisherman aesthetic through the lens of fashion (think brown leather loafers, chore jackets, bucket hats, quilted vests, and corduroy), this trend is already being interpreted for the home (think striped upholstery, warm wood furniture, and shades of navy, dark gray, and seaside green).
