Now that it’s finally starting to feel a little more like spring around here, is anyone else itching for a spring style refresh–especially a boho refresh? When the weather gets warmer and the sun is out longer, we can’t resist adding in a few boho-inspired accents. Read on for our favorite ways to incorporate boho style in your home for spring!
Play with texture
Whether it’s a handmade basket or a woven kilim-inspired pillow, adding rich texture to a space is a classic way to bring a touch of boho styling. Textures that evoke artisan-made goods like weavings, tassels, and hand thrown pottery are perfect for that collected boho look. For spring, swap out your plush throw blankets for something a little lighter, like a woven linen throw or a lightweight cotton throw with tassels.
Layer up
Spring may be about losing the layers but that doesn’t need to apply to your home! Layering patterns and colors in your space gives it a curated bohemian look. Throw pillows are a great excuse to play with layered patterns. At such a small investment for each pillow, don’t be afraid to go bold! Not sure where to start with mixing patterns? Choose colors that are complementary (when in doubt, choose a cool color to pair with a warm color) and then look for patterns in each color way that you wouldn’t normally pair up.
Break out your green thumb
Ready to embrace your inner jungalow style? Nothing says boho or spring quite like bringing the outdoors in. Layering foliage in clusters of planters gives a room a breath of fresh air and instantly brings some life to the space. The quintessential boho house plant may be the fiddle leaf fig, but don’t overlook the simplicity of a potted jade plant or aloe.
Update your walls
One of our favorite boho trends that we’re seeing more and more of are tapestries and woven wall hangings. If you already have framed artwork in your home, bringing in a textile element to your wall decor is a great way to mix things up. Tapestries offer beautiful dimensionality and can often times be a more affordable way to cover a larger area of wall space.
