If you love weather and groundhogs, then you’ve likely taken the day off to honor this tradition of watching a weather-predicting woodchuck emerge from his winter burrow. However, if you’re a regular person, you might opt to skip the annual event held in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania in favor of watching the time-warping, cinematic classic: Groundhog Day.

Some consider the movie to be a profound lesson on life and love. And yeah, that’s great. But here at Havenly, we can’t help but view the film as a gem of decor-inspiration. From the movie’s theme-setting Panasonic RC-6025 alarm clock to the electrocutingly-cute chrome toaster oven – we think there’s plenty of room in any room for a little Groundhog Day.

The Flippin’ Clock

What would you do if you were stuck in one place, and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?” – Phil Connors played by Bill Murray

Well Phil, we’d decorate. DUH. To start, we’d get ourselves one of those Panasonic flip clocks and swoon with style-delight when it woke us every morning.

For a full-fledged Groundhog Day experience, we’d make the alarm clock play “I Got You Babe” – the same song that plays every time the alarm goes off in the movie.

Do You Smell Toast?

Exploring Groundhog Day Decor With Havenly

Toasters don’t often play a central role in our home design decisions, and don’t worry, we’re not going to argue that they should. But when you really need a toaster, and we mean really need a toaster, do you want an ugly box warming your bread or a chrome-plated kitsch masterpiece? Head to eBay and find yourself a vintage toaster Phil would be proud to play in the tub with.
