The ‘70s are back in a big way. From the catwalk to our closet to the couch in the living room, the diverse looks of the ‘70s are influencing everything from fashion to home decor. We first spotted the trend on runways last spring / summer. Lucky for us, the resurgence of ‘70s style didn’t stop there.
“In the past year, there’s been an amping up of style influences from all aspects of the ’70s,” says fashion historian Laura McLaws Helms. “There is a harking back to what people thought was a more fun and free time.”
This awesome vintage style has established a firm footing in home decor, too.
“When I think of ‘70s decor, I think of saturated colors, patterns from plaid to psychedelic, house plants, and highly textural pieces like macrame and rattan. And of course, the shag rug!” – Shelby Girard, Havenly’s Director of Design
