Students 17 years of age or older from Austin, TX; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; New York, NY; and Washington, DC who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or certificate program at an accredited college or university for the 2023-24 academic year with an interest in a career in interior design or related study.

Applicants are required to complete an application about their education and career goals, as well as essay questions. Applicants will also be asked to include a link to their design portfolio or share an image of their favorite design.

Havenly will review all applications after the deadline of March 31, 2023 and will determine the scholarship winner within one  month of application close. The scholarship winner will be contacted by Havenly directly via email. All decisions are final.

When can I expect to hear back from Havenly regarding the status of my application?

The Scholarships will be awarded in the form of a check made payable to the Accredited Institution at which the recipient is enrolled (proof of enrollment in an Eligible Program or proof of acceptance into an Eligible Program at an Accredited Institution will be required). Scholarships may not be assigned or transferred. No cash equivalent prize will be awarded. The awarding of any Scholarship as part of this Program is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Program Rules. Scholarships that are not used for the academic year for which they are awarded will be forfeited.

What can the scholarship money be used for?

Eligibility. The Havenly Scholarship Program is open to students who: (1) maintain residences and/or mailing addresses in one of the following metro areas: Austin, TX; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; New York, NY; and Washington, DC; (2) are 17 years of age or older at the time of application; and (3) are enrolled at an accredited college or university. Employees of Havenly Inc. and their immediate families are not eligible to apply or receive a scholarship.Only one application is allowed per student in this scholarship competition. At Havenly, we believe that interior design should be accessible to all, including aspiring designers. We started the Havenly Scholarship to support the next generation of creatives, architects, and interior designers from all walks of life. Through this initiative, we hope to help eliminate barriers to entry and foster creativity for students in the Austin area.

Our designers across Austin have experience working with a range of design styles, budgets, and architecture, from historic Victorian homes in Hyde Park to new builds in the heart of Austin. We’ll work closely with you to channel your signature style and create a home you’ll absolutely love. 

It costs anywhere from $50 to $200 per hour to work with an interior designer, depending on location and expertise. At Havenly, we charge a fixed rate per room starting at just $99. 

When creating an interior design budget, you should consider the size of your space, length of the project, any renovation costs, how much furniture and decor you want to buy, and the desired quality of the products. Don't worry — your Havenly designer can help you make these decisions!

Traditionally, interior designers charge by the hour or by square footage. At Havenly, we keep it simple and charge a fixed price per room.
