Last February, Samantha moved into a new home in Des Moines, Iowa with her husband, Cody, and one of the cutest pups in the world, Lola. The family needed a living room that was trendy, cozy and met Lola’s high standards for comfort.

The Design Process
Design Concepts
For the new living room, Samantha was looking for a few key things: a large piece of art for the primary wall, a reading nook (chair and side table), and shelving or storage space. As a stylist and fashion blogger, she had a pretty good handle on her likes and dislikes and was able to provide plenty of inspiration to her Havenly designer, Chelsea.
“We want the space to feel lived in, relaxed, yet pulled together. I want it to be a space where both my husband and I can relax and entertain our friends and family,” said Samantha.
Chelsea went to work on creating design concepts that balanced comfortable and classy while meeting the functional needs for the space.
The end result of their collaboration? A truly beautiful space with incredible detail and style.

“Overall, I’m thrilled with the final space and spend as much time in here as possible; either working from the chair, or binging on my latest Netflix obsession (currently Longmire) from our couch,” said Samantha. “I can’t wait to host our friends and family during the upcoming holiday months, especially with the additional seating offered by the two poufs we added to the space.”
Chelsea added: “The final product is beautiful and captures all that she was looking for with the differing neutrals, textures and the cozy reading nook. It was a great experience and I am so glad Samantha is happy with the design, and has a space that she feels at home in.”
What does Lola think of the new space? She declined to comment on this post, but we’re pretty sure she’s happy with her new Havenly living room.
