This rug is visually appealing. It brings a nice contrasting texture to the other elements of my living room. I can see why my designer chose it. Unfortunately there are issues with it.
1st, it was INSANELY dirty when it arrived. I had to vacuum so many times in a month to really get most of the dirt out. The size is 8x10 so it’s not like I could take it outside to give it a good beating. 2nd, because it’s made with natural fibers, there are twigs in it that if stepped on, it would hurt. The fibers are rough too, but I’ve noticed they are getting a bit softer as the rug is getting used. 3rd, another downfall of the natural fiber is the lint. If I wear socks and snuggle on my couch, the lint that catch onto my socks gets embedded in my couch. Vacuuming my couch doesn’t get all the lint out either. And when I have to sit on the rug to assemble furniture, the fibers get stuck on my clothing (depending on the material). I have to remind myself not to wear yoga pants because lint/fibers get stuck to them. Lastly, because it’s apparently hand woven, there are loose knots that I have to tuck in, which vacuuming doesn’t help. I do use a roller brush (on hardwood floor mode) which the instructions say not to do. But with the insane amount of dirt, I have no choice. And I’m not gonna get it is professionally cleaned all the time.
I wanted to give this rug a chance, but I wish I returned it during the window. I’ll probably get a different rug in 5yrs time.
