Holiday season means entertaining! Not sure where to start when pulling together your tablescape? We’ve pulled together our fool-proof tips for setting your table in style.

Fresh Flowers

No tablescape is complete without fresh flowers or greenery! For a dramatic look, go for a large centerpiece with layers of blooms and leaves – deep reds or purples set against white blossoms make for a stunning winter look. Looking for something a little simpler? Bud vases with roses or single blooms are an understated way to add color to your table settings.

Table linens

Table cloths, runners, and napkins are the perfect way to infuse your tablescape with texture, color, and pattern. Ditch the matching set and layer in pieces that complement each other for a more curated and eclectic look.

Mix and Match Dinnerware

Whether each table setting is a different pattern, or simply mixing a different salad and dinner plate, using non-matching dinnerware is the easiest way to make your tablescape stand out! If you’re new to mixing and matching, an easy introduction is to keep your dinner plate a classic white, then go with a bolder color or pattern for the salad plate, layered on top.

Ambient lighting

Candles let you keep the lighting low, but still have that ambient glow. Bring in tapers in elegant candleholders for a classic look, or tea lights in glass votives for a more modern take on candlelit dining. Layer in lanterns with pillar candles to add a bit of whimsy.

Don’t Go Overboard

Keep in mind – your tablescape should feel layered and curated, but your guests should still be able to eat! Consider the number of guests you’re hosting and the size of your table when picking out centerpieces, lighting, and décor.
