Between the Grammy Awards, a surprise new album, a world tour for all eras, and Superbowl LVII, the world is fixated on one famous couple right now: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. And while we don’t want to necessarily add to the noise, as interior designers, we can’t help but imagine what their hypothetical shared home would look like. Would it be LA luxe or country rustic? Whimsical or sporty? How would their respective careers factor into the overall aesthetic?
After a little brainstorming, we ultimately dreamed up a spacious Los Angeles home rooted in an organic-luxe design aesthetic with Mediterranean influences. Inspired by their glamorous careers and their down-to-earth roots (Taylor was born on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania; Travis is from Ohio), we brought the look to life with lots of rustic woods, dark and moody accents, sculptural pieces, and hints of crystal and disco.
Finished with a few fun, personalized details like shades of lavender, musical influences, and the numbers 13 and 87, we think we nailed it, if we do say so ourselves. While as designers, we definitely have conflicting thoughts about the influx of AI in the design world, we do love using it as a tool to imagine the design style of our favorite celebs. Step inside the couples’ hypothetical LA home below.
The Living Room
In the primary living room, the rustic-modern aesthetic features prominently. With exposed wood beams, comfortable seating, and little hints of glam, the overall look is effortless and laid back with a little edge — an atmosphere we think the two would appreciate. A subtle nod to number 87 hangs above the fireplace (Swifties will note that 87+13=100).
The Bedroom
Coziness reigns supreme in the primary bedroom. We went with a more Folklore-inspired color palette here, with a soft green bed frame, hints of blue, and serene landscape artwork above the bed reminiscent of Taylor’s hometown. The rustic wood beam ceilings and grand curved windows add a little drama.
The Kitchen
We gave the couple a proper heart-of-the-home kitchen perfect for entertaining friends and family (in addition to baking and scarfing down chicken fingers and ranch). The richly-veined Calacatta marble leans modern, while the wood cabinetry adds warmth and a little rustic touch. Finished with lavender counter stools and fresh florals in honor of Taylor’s favorite color, the space has just enough whimsy.
The Home Bar
The couple would obviously have a moody home bar complete with merlot velvet stools (a not to Travis’ team) and a grand piano. Perfect for entertaining friends after-hours, this space is a little Midnights-inspired, from the bold color palette and sculptural lighting to the overhead disco balls. We just know Jack Antonoff and Taylor will be here until 3 am creating music together (or even sharing behind-the-scenes clips of The Tortured Poets Department with Travis).
The Bathroom
A spa-worthy bathroom is a must-have for the duo to unwind post-touring the world and post-playoff games. We carried the richly-veined marble from the kitchen into this space, and added charm with a fluted bathtub, warm terracotta flooring, brass accents, and countryside florals. It’s a little luxe and a little laid-back, just like the duo.
The Media Room
No Grammy award-winning artist’s home is complete without a cozy media room. This room is the hang out space (particularly for Taylor’s cats), thanks to the plush corner sectional, piled-on throw pillows, and moody color palette. The walls are lined with books, records, and a few of Taylor’s 13 Grammy awards.
The Sunroom
A grand sunroom is a must in sunny Los Angeles. Here, the aesthetic is more traditional and rustic, with cozy accent chairs, a traditional-style rug, and a vintage-inspired chandelier. Personal touches come through in the form of wall art, from the guitar to the Chief’s jersey with Taylor’s lucky number — 13.
The Home Gym
Where else would Taylor prep for her Eras tour and Travis stay fit in the off season? We imagine the two’s home gym to be rustic, earthy, and brimming with top-notch exercise equipment for both parties.
The Closets
Hers
With a walk-out balcony, greenery, and all-over navy paint, Taylor’s closet is more Midnights-inspired, down to the sparkly chandelier overhead. She has plenty of room for her tour outfits, hat collection, and red carpet-worthy outfits. We just know there is some snake-shaped jewelry hidden in here somewhere for when she decides to tease Reputation, Taylor’s Version.
With leather accents and wood paneling, Travis’ closet space is a bit more rustic and masculine. We went with a neat display for his impressive sneaker collection, plus a mirror and vanity area for jewelry and cologne. The crystal chandelier overhead ties into the rest of the home’s aesthetic.
The Patio
No celebrity home is complete without a stunning exterior, sprawling patio, and in-ground pool. We picture the couple lounging solo here on the weekends, hosting Travis’ mom in the off season, and throwing parties for their A-list friends.
