Hang one opposite or adjacent to a window to bounce daylight and make a room feel larger and brighter. Mirrors earn their place over a console in the entry, above a mantel, in a dim hallway, or leaning large in a bedroom or living room as a statement.

What size mirror do I need?

Over a console or vanity, choose a mirror about two-thirds the width of the furniture below. For a statement, a floor mirror (60+ inches) leans against the wall and instantly opens up a room. Scale up on a big empty wall—an undersized mirror gets lost.

Round and arched mirrors soften hard lines and suit entries and baths; rectangular mirrors feel classic and tailored. The frame sets the tone—thin metal for modern, carved or wood for warmth, frameless for a clean, recessed look. Match the finish to your other metals and tones.

How to hang and angle a mirror

Center a mirror at eye level (about 57–60 inches), and over furniture leave a few inches between the frame and the piece below. Be mindful of what it reflects—aim it at a window, a pretty vignette, or the room itself, not a cluttered corner.
