Solarium. Florida room. Garden conservatory. Wintergarten.
A sunroom, by any other name, conjures feelings of warmth and serenity. It’s a room bathed in natural light while boasting relaxing views of the outdoors from every seat. At its best, it’s a livable, social space that is both comfortable and comforting.
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a sunroom, of course. But we can all borrow what sunrooms offer and weave those elements throughout our homes.
With that in mind, Shelby Girard, Havenly VP of Creative & Design, takes us on a tour of five gorgeous sunrooms. Along the way, she’s sharing sunroom design ideas and sunroom-inspired tips.
Join us in letting the sunshine in:
The Easy Breezy Sunroom
Imagine stepping into this modern space. Walls of windows. A laidback coastal vibe. “It feels like a vacation in your own home,” Shelby says. “We can literally feel the sun on our feet.”
The keys to this look? A light, neutral palette, casual furniture and relaxed accents like patterned throw pillows and wicker lighting (a major spring decor trend). Everything about this room (and all thoughtful sunrooms, really) is designed to improve your mood by creating a tranquil sanctuary.
Borrow this sunroom style tip: In rooms where you want more natural light while maintaining a sense of privacy, swap heavy drapes for sheer curtains.

The Classic Sunroom
This sunroom is proof that “you can’t go wrong with a neutral palette and timeless style,” says Shelby. This classic style’s simplicity allows eyes to focus on the stunning views outside.Hints of green in the velvet pillows, the cotton throw and the trio of plants bring the outdoors in.
Borrow this sunroom style tip: Today’s outdoor furniture isn’t just for decks and patios. Consider furnishing your interiors with a stylish sectional or sofa built to withstand sun, rain and snow. Durability plus washability is a win-win, particularly for families with kids or pets.

The Bright & Boho Sunroom
Sunrooms are the perfect place to incorporate a more boho style, Shelby says. That’s because boho designs are inviting and approachable — just what you want in a room designed for lounging with family and friends.
What makes this sunroom tick: that curvaceous rattan chair, the variety of houseplants and the striking floral rug.
Borrow this sunroom style tip: Mix and match colors, textures and patterns for delightfully unconventional spaces that are cozy, colorful and truly yours.

The Organic Modern Sunroom
This sunroom marries the clean lines of modern furniture with natural materials like teak, oak, wicker and leather. The inviting seating and mix of textiles keep things warm and homey, Shelby says. Tables within easy reach give guests a place to rest their coffee mugs or cocktail glasses between sips.
Borrow this sunroom style tip: Use pops of color — like the pillow, pouf and bowl of citrus seen here — to add personality and punch up neutral investment pieces.

The Casual Mid-Mod Sunroom
“Every sunroom should have a little bit of natural life in it,” Shelby says. In this farmhouse-inspired sunroom, a fiddle leaf tree and a folksy wildflower centerpiece add organic touches. Tailored furniture in durable materials is accented with baskets, a jute pouf and an ottoman in place of a coffee table. The result is an unspoken invitation to have a seat and let the day’s worries drift away.
Borrow this sunroom style tip: Go green in your home by layering indoor plants throughout. Houseplants have multiple benefits, and styling plants is a fun exercise in creativity.
