Each design style has its own hallmark, from the colorful eclecticism of a boho space to the rustic elements of farmhouse decor. But you don’t always need to call out every last design detail in order to define a space’s key style. Sometimes, you just know it when you see it. In this latest installment of Havenly Design Awards, we’re showcasing the Best in Styles and Design Trends. These inspired, beautiful rooms simply embody each individual style, whether luxe, Scandinavian mid-mod, Cali Cool and more. We’ve also got our standout rooms that best display some of our readers’ and designers’ favorite home decor trends, including accent walls, pattern play, and bold colors.

Despite spanning a vast array of styles and trends, these best-in-class spaces actually have a lot in common, says Havenly lead designer Melissa Wagner. “The furniture, decor, and lighting all work beautifully together in each of these spaces.” Melissa says. “It’s almost as if everything in the room is talking to each other.” The results? Everything “feels beyond cohesive,” she says.

Keep reading to get seriously inspired (though we totally have another Havenly Design Awards category for that) as these stylish spaces are the creme de la creme.

BEST STYLES

Best Bohemian Style

The top pick for best bohemian style goes to this gorgeous bedroom. It’s full of texture, from the wall finish to the artwork to the woven bench. Hints of softness — blush curtains and a fur throw — play well with the organic patina of wood. Brass sconces are a modern touch that add surprising warmth.

Runner-up: Organic textures and a pop of jewel-tone color (we see you, emerald green!) define this boho bedroom. We also love the hint of real life — this pup is living the best of free-spirited life.

Modern Organic // Boho Jungle // Warm and Earthy

Best Farmhouse Style

A high-contrast color palette creates incredible visual interest in this living room, blending modern and sleek finishes with a mix of organic textures. Oversized subway tiles surrounding the fireplace extend to each built-in bookcase, providing space for personalization and storage — the ultimate family-friendly addition.

Runner-up: This contemporary take on farmhouse design includes signature elements like wrought-iron and wood with a pared-back aesthetic. The result is fresh and clean, with a welcoming vibe.

Crisp and Easy // Classic Farmhouse // Mid Mod Cabin

Best New Classic Style

This winning example of New Classic style features coastal inspiration without being too overbearing. How does this design deliver? By including classic blue and white hues, organic elements like jute, and more modern patterns like shibori and animal print. Wall sconces are a traditional choice that still feel sleek; and greenery, as always, adds life to the space.

Runner-up: A serene palette, comfortable textures, and traditional accents makes for a timeless design — while modern furniture silhouettes and lighting puts the “new” in New Classic.

High Contrast Statement // Color meets Pattern // Tailored Ease

Best Organic Modern Style

Organic Modern style is all about feeling a relaxed, zen-like sense of comfort in a space. Nothing feels overly precious in this space — and that’s even with a white sofa! True to the Organic Modern ethos, this room is a perfect combination of cozy elements paired with chic, sleek sensibilities.

Runner-up: A striking stone wall makes this room feel restful and relaxing, bringing the outdoors in. With a soft palette, lounge-worthy seating, and tons of natural textures, this room packs major Organic Modern style.

Bright and Airy // Black and Neutral // Minimal Scandi

Best Scandinavian Mid-Mod Style

What is Scandi mid-mod, exactly? We’d call it a grown-up version of mid-century modern with the same lines and silhouettes, but including hygge-inspired finishes that encourage ease and relaxation. This living room strikes that careful balance, from its sophisticated marble flooring and sleek lines to the cozy textures and playful poufs (how cute are those shaggy Mongolian fur stools?).

scandinavian style

Runner-up: The warmth of a leather sofa creates a soft landing place in this Scandi Mid-Mod living room, full of graphic pops of black and white paired with a navy accent wall.

Eclectic Texture // Bold and Classic // Colorful and Artistic

Best Luxe Style

Luxe with a side of minimalism just feels so right. This space embodies of-the-moment chic, from its mix of channel-tufted leather alongside the sculptural shapes of the coffee table and chairs. The tiniest hint of brass adds warmth and tasteful shine to this modern living room.

Runner-up: Gold, velvet, marble, lucite, fur. Materials tell a luxe story here, as does the color palette, a mix of cream, black and mauve.

Textured Modern // Luxe Femme // Colorful Cozy

Best Cali Cool Style

Is it just us, or does this bedroom immediately evoke calm? It’s open and airy, but still warm and cozy. Dark dressers may seem a surprising choice, but note how they anchor the room. The narrow-profile nightstands and linen bedding lighten things right back up. Add in woven baskets, pampas grass, ocean artwork, and a soft touch of blue, and you’ve got yourself a Pacific paradise.

cali-cool style

Runner-up: A neutral palette sets the stage for tranquility, while statement details like a stone wall, iron chandelier, and wooden beams draw the eye upward.

Crisp Eclectic // Earthy Neutrals // Serene Outdoors

BEST TRENDS

Best Pattern Play

Geometric texture on the rug, fringe on the ottomans, stripes on the shades, oversized floral wallpaper, classic trim on the nightstands, birds in flight on the pillows, and scallops on the chairs and headboard… Sure, there’s a lot to take in, but see how it all just works? That’s because the complementary patterns (both geometric, abstract, and floral) play well together, and the cohesive palette ties everything together.

Runner-up: If you’re going to go all out on pattern, go all out on palette, too. Pairing pretty jewel tones with rich, grounding black, this room is bold — and incredibly awesome.

Jewel Toned // Eclectic Twist // Animal Safari

Best Bold Color

Sapphire, sodalite, ruby, and of course gold all come together for a jewel-tone dining room dream. We love how the electric blue tufted chairs contrast with the fuchsia abstract art and geometric rug in timeless black and white.

Runner-up: Monochrome is in, as proven by the show-stopping shade of teal used throughout this living room. Note how the doors and limewash ceiling help complement the bold color.

Color Block Escape // Preppy Floral // Bold Eclectic

Best Neutral Space

So serene, so clean. The winner for best neutral space still has plenty of visual interest. Note how the black accents all subtly “talk” to each other, adding a contrasting element that still reads subtle and soft. The gray wall also adds just a hint of color, keeping things cool in a way beige or white wouldn’t quite work.

Runner-up: Neutral doesn’t mean boring. Case in point? This room. Just look at those chairs and that light fixture!

Minimal Farmhouse // Cozy Cali Cool // Tone on Tone

Best Dark and Moody Space

Soft grays and ivories contrast against the slate black wall, complete with architectural details to add drama and movement. While dark, the comfy cushions and warmth of brass create a welcoming vibe. It’s certainly a mood, in the best way possible.

Runner-up: Put on your pajamas and draw the curtains. This moody bedroom, with its forest green accent wall, is the perfect place to lounge all day (and all night).

Minimal High Contrast // Pop Art Hangout // Serene Slumber

Best Statement Wallpaper

A botanical print in rich blues and greens makes a stunning statement — and serves as the springboard for the rest of the design. The nightstands, mirror, and accent pillow feature gold elements that echo the wallpaper (as does that stunning shade of teal paint), but the crisp white bedding and dresser balance it all out.

Runner-up: Black-and-white wallpaper is a smart choice if you can’t commit to a color palette. Anything goes (and we mean anything!) with a monochromatic print like this.

Cats and Birds // Floral Femme // Birds in Flight

Best Accent Wall

Metallic gold palm fronds make an otherwise blank wall a part of the party (it’s also a great moment for selfies and Zoom calls). Consider it a perk of being a wallflower. Luxurious emerald velvet curtains carry on the wall drama, and add a pop of color that flows throughout the space.

Runner-up: We adore how this accent wall proves less can truly be more. By painting only partially up the wall, you’ll make a powerful statement — with half the work.

Sophisticated Floral // Deep Indigo // Subtle Sunrays
